How it works

Help people find the right event while giving the people who run the directory a clear way to review imports, corrections, and host updates.

Made for New York City performers, venue hosts, and directory administrators

Search the directory

Narrow the directory by day, date, borough, fee, and signup method to find a useful match.

Check locations and details

Browse grouped map pins and open a listing’s schedule, signup details, fee, and source information on a phone or computer.

Keep listings current

Review new imports and community corrections before publishing. Approved hosts can update their own listings, while failed fetches keep the last good data.

Find the right listing

Search by date, borough, fee, and signup method, then check the listing’s schedule and source information.

Review before publishing

How I would approach your build

Preview new sources before publishing, while failed refreshes retain the last good records.

  • Design, development, testing, and launch with a direct line to the person building your product.
  • Scope, price, start date, and target launch agreed before development.
  • Your custom code and deployment handover, with the 30-day money-back guarantee after the completed product launches.

Work directly with the developer, from the first idea to launch. Your custom code is 100% yours. Client work and code stay out of this public portfolio unless you give permission.

The problem

Bring scattered event schedules into a useful directory without letting a failed import, conflicting source, or missing row silently replace reliable information.

What was built

A responsive directory with search, filters, a custom map, scheduled source imports, and a private review workspace. Community submissions go to review, while approved hosts can maintain only the listings they own.

Development details

  • Search by day, date, borough, entry fee, signup method, and host status
  • Custom JavaScript map over OpenStreetMap tiles with grouped pins and touch gestures
  • Scheduled imports from ten source adapters with review before publishing
  • Source links, last-checked times, conflict warnings, and retained data after failed updates
  • Community corrections, inactive reports, and new-listing submissions
  • Admin-approved host accounts with editing limited to their own listings
  • PostgreSQL production storage, SQLite local operation, and GitHub OIDC scheduled syncs

About these images and previews

The supplied banner is promotional artwork with illustrative phone mockups. The five separate app captures are original README images from commit 78e9f48, using fictional demo listings and sample import data. The implemented map is a custom JavaScript renderer over OpenStreetMap tiles; provider marks, listing counts, and example locations in the promotional banner are not implementation or live-data evidence. Original image colors and proportions are preserved.
